Around Dutchland, November, 1993 by Penny Pyrbred Penn Dutchies were much in evidence at the PFNE Specialty held at the Somerset Hills KC Show on September 11, and their victories are celebrated elsewhere in this journal. Top honors went to non-Dutchie Jackson Floyd (Ch Kaskadian's Idyll Gossip), rumored to be Timber Simon's (Ch Kaskadian's Whitehope Timber) evil twin brother. Penny isn't usually all that excited by canine showing, but it was thrilling to see these two magnificent hunks duking it out for M. Guy Mansencal (a real gentleman). Gives new meaning to the term sibling rivalry. The decision went down to the wire. Out of the ring, Jackson seemed quite taken with pretty Ms. Babs (Whitehope Bittersweet Babs), and turned green with envy when it came out that Timber is kenneled with this young beauty. And while we're on the subject of ringside romance, Bo Bowes (Balibasque Bo Jangles) caught the eye of (Ch Rivergrove's) Ivory Princess while taking Best of Winners at the Berks County KC Show. This is no mean feat considering she was selected most beautiful lady Pyr in the land at the National Specialty. Way to go, Bo! Penny's sorry she missed the Walk-In-The-Woods, but you must remember that Penny is an urban animal. If Penny desires exercise, there are chic clubs ready to cater to her every whim. Woods are best when contained within park fences in Penny's opinion. Still, it looks like Pyrs and people alike had fun, and that's what this club is supposed to be about. Maybe next year Penny will give it a try. (NOTE: Please use your browser's "BACK" button to return to the Around Dutchland page.)
