Required Materials:
Attendance: Attendance is expected at all class meetings and scheduled labs. Attendance will be taken at noon sharp in the Mac Lab on scheduled lab days and 10% will be deducted from the applicable project for unexcused absences. Students missing a scheduled viewing day with an unexcused absence with have 10% deducted from the project grade of the project being viewed that day.
Absences will be excused in accordance with University policy, however it will not be possible to make up lab work. In order to make up tests and other graded activities, the absence must be documented by a written note from a physician, counselor, etc.
Lab Schedule: A detailed schedule of times students will work under the instructor's supervision on the various projects will be distributed in class and posted on the class Web page. It will be updated as required, and it is the student's responsibility to make all required editing sessions.
Independent Work: While several sessions will be scheduled for each student to work on projects with the instructor available for assistance and critique, the majority of the work required to master editing skills must be done individually and not all of it can be accomplished during the scheduled class time. Facilities are very limited, so scheduling your editing sessions early and KEEPING to the schedule are critical!
Due Dates: All assignments are due at the BEGINNING of class on the dates designated in the syllabus. A 5% grade penalty will be assessed for each class period an assignment is late. NO work will be accepted after the last regular class period of the semester.
