Using clips from the Advanced Non-Linear Feature Assignment (Brewery) and the Photoshop (if you are familiar with it) and Motion programs, the student will create an original, animated opening sequence for this video project.
The steps required are as follows:
1. Use Photoshop to create a still image which will be the back-most layer (group) in a Motion project. I recommend exporting a freeze frame from the Brewery project and applying a Photoshop filter, however any image created or edited in Photoshop is acceptable. Students not familiar with Photoshop should create a freeze frame in FCP and import that as the back-most layer. This assignment will be graded off the computer (as a RAM Preview) and need not be printed to tape or burned to disk. The student may want to export it as a Quicktime Movie, however, and import it into the Advanced Feature Project in FCP to see how it looks with the whole feature.2. Use Motion to create a motion layer from a clip selected from the Brewery Project.
3. Use Motion to create an animated title for the Brewery Project as the top-most layer.
